Role Purpose

Drive the continual evolution of CBRE’s CE Property Management ESG Strategy to ensure continued integration of ESG services across the our business and geographies, delivery for (regional)clients in support of their own objectives including the development of our Added Value Services offering to drive revenue growth for the department, and the provision of support to our Business Development team toward securing new business and raising the profile of the department in relation to ESG capability and skillset.

Responsible for the ongoing development, communication & integration of the ESG Strategy for Property Management and working across all strands of the PM business this role will report directly to the Head of Property Management EMEA with a matrix line report to the Global Head of ESG for Property Management. The role will also form part of the leadership of CBRE’s ESG Consultancy Group.

Key Responsibilities

      Oversee, and quality assure, the provision of sustainability services to Property Management Clients and provide expert sustainability advice to internal and external stakeholders.

      Develop, review, and implement appropriate sustainability objectives, targets and improvement programmes for the PM, FM, and PMA businesses as appropriate.

      Monitor and report on sustainability performance and progress against sustainability objectives to the PM leadership team.

      Manage and support our regional platform adoption in close collaboration with our D&T teams as well as our country teams.

      Routinely present at corporate and client meetings and steering groups to increase sustainability awareness and engagement.

      Raise the profile of Property Management in the wider industry through coordinating representation on key industry working groups.

      Oversee and manage appropriate training programmes, methods of delivery and evaluation of effectiveness to ensure employees are competent with regard to their sustainability knowledge & duties.

      Provide oversight and support to the wider PM ESG team in their provision of ESG information, advice, and guidance to the wider team and to their client portfolios.

      Work closely with our PM Business Development teams to support operational growth in line with business objectives, actively engaging in the development of pitch material and participation in the pitches and prospecting meetings.

      Drive the growth of ESG as an Added Value Service line within Property Management identifying complementary products aligned with client requirements.

      Identify opportunities to engage with other CBRE Lines of Business, notably the Environmental Consultancy Group and Project Management (PJM) team on specific technical assignments that can’t be delivered via Property Management.

      Keep abreast of changes in legislation, best practice, and wider ESG trends and priorities to ensure the ongoing provision of best in sector advise and thought leadership.

      Work closely with CBRE Global Head of ESG to maximise the functionality within and use of the CBRE ESG Reporting Platform in line with global objectives.

      Responsible for the future recruitment, line management, training and development of junior team members.

      Serve as a champion of CBRE’s own sustainability strategy.

Person Specification/Requirements

      Experience of operating in a complex, commercial environment

      Client focussed ensuring our position as trusted advisor and critical friend

      Experience of working within real estate operations and an understanding of the wider roles of property and facilities managers would be a distinct advantage

      Ability to understand and analyse information to be able to recommend informed solutions to problems

      Able to influence third parties to achieve desired sustainability outcomes

      Understanding of key ESG issues affecting businesses

      Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong attention to detail

      Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships across the department, lines of business and geographies

      Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities

      Experience in a range of reporting tools and platforms, e.g. Deepki, SIERA, Envizi, MS Power BI or Tableau

      Masters degree in a relevant field OR comparable experience built up over your career

      Previous In-depth experience of sustainability experience, ideally within a property management or operations
