Job Title: Senior Sustainability Consultant – Sustainability Planning & Strategy, GWS Enterprise
Location: London, UK

Role Purpose:
  • The purpose of this position is to lead delivery of Sustainability Strategies, Impact Mitigation and Sustainability Disclosure projects to global corporate clients.
  • The Sustainability Planning & Strategy team is part of our Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) division and is currently supporting a number of high profile clients with design and implementation of sustainability strategies, sustainability reporting and compliance, varying between single subject consulting projects to large change management engagements.
  • You will lead on client relationship management, business development, and delivery. A self-starter, you will work with your line manager and a team of Analysts and Consultants to both secure and deliver a range of sustainability consulting projects, in the Corporate Real Estate and other sectors. The consulting projects will include delivery of:
  • Sustainability strategies
  • Carbon accounting, benchmarking and related disclosure
  • Environmental compliance
  • Implementation of sustainability initiatives
  • The role is within the GWS Enterprise Sustainability team, where you will be responsible for a range of projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong client relationships and use this to deliver and expand a package of best-in-class sustainability services.
  • Develop, communicate and implement exceptional operational delivery standards within the Sustainability team.
  • Deliver and manage delivery of top quality sustainability consulting and compliance projects.
  • Lead development and management of GHG inventories
  • Assist in the management of the Sustainability Consulting team operations ensuring as a minimum that projects are completed in a timely, quality and accurate fashion.
  • Demonstrate industry thought leadership through formal presentations to the team, CBRE GWS, clients and at external events.
  • Provide technical understanding and advice on reporting and disclosure programmes such as GRI, CPD, GRESB and TCFD.
  • Identify Sustainability client opportunities within the existing CBRE GWS business and externally.
  • Develop and draft varied client proposals and commercial service offerings.

Person Specification/Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in sustainability sector.
  • Proven energy and sustainability business development skills.
  • Demonstrable team management experience.
  • Track record in developing & delivering strategic sustainability solutions to clients, including legislative compliance, greenhouse gas reporting and project implementation.
  • Track record in developing Sustainability related management and reporting frameworks (i.e Science-based targets, UN SDGs).
  • Good knowledge and understanding of implications of various leading frameworks such as PRI and TCFD.
  • Working knowledge of environmental legislation and mandatory and voluntary carbon reporting.
  • Experience of and affinity for working with large, complex datasets to identify trends & provide insightful analysis.

  • Educated to degree level (minimum 2:1) ideally in sustainability related subject.
