We have a fantastic opportunity to join CBRE Design Collective, a global team of talented design professionals operating within the largest commercial real estate services company in the world. Our ambition is to deliver exceptional design solutions for our clients, working within a creative cultural environment of teamwork. We are a fast-growing design community strengthened by the extensive resources and services across CBRE’s global platform. The Design Lead will be based in Melbourne and your primary role will be to promote the growth of our design capability in Australia, and to support our CBRE Project Management and Principal Contracting teams to provide best in class design and build services.

Here’s a snapshot of your day;

  • Work with the Global Head of Design, regional and local marketing to promote our integrated design capability in Australia and to carry out the design vision and strategic approach.
  • Support the growth of design as an enabler for our Project Management business through its expansion into Design & Build services. 
  • Primary daily contact with the client for all project design related matters, manage client requests to ensure we are providing an exemplary service to our customers.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing design activities, workflow, and other day to day design activities, to ensure goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget, and other performance targets.
  • Involvement with budgeting and financial discussions with Project Management leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as and when required. 

About you:

  • Substantial experience within the design, and design and build industry within Australia
  • Experience in design leadership roles within reputable design firms, or notable design positions.
  • Thorough understanding of Australian building codes and regulations, which can be translated to regional design support team.
  • Exceptional design and technical skills, including expertise in all conventional aspects of technical design principles and delivery. 
  • Substantial experience with workplace interiors.
  • Proven ability of team leadership, and coordination skills across multiple teams.
  • Experience with industry standard design technology (Revit, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Sketch-UP and Adobe Suite).
