APAC Communications Lead- GWS|Local

The Communications Manager, GWS I Local is responsible for the full complement of the APAC GWS I Local Communication function working directly with Global GWS | Local Communication Lead and GWS | Local APAC Divisional President.  The position is primarily responsible for managing and delivering the communication strategy across APAC working with key leaders/stakeholders to translate messages into compelling employee and client engagement, messages and content. 

Role objectives include, but are not limited to:


  • Own the development and ongoing maintenance APAC GWS | Local Communications plan and calendar, covering media relations, client and internal communications for special projects and other business requirements on any annual basis
  • Partner with APAC GWS | Local leadership across internal communication requirements covering regional and country activity; providing guidance on key message development in-line with regional/country strategies and direction, drafting content, editing and proofreading and distribution where required.
  • Collect submissions, prepare appropriate content, editing, proofreading, putting into template, and manage distribution where required across GWS and wider CBRE communication mediums e.g. Monthly Asia Big Wins, GWS Newsletter
  • Supporting the collation of GWS wins content for Quarterly Earnings calls/announcements and packaging to global
  • Collecting submissions, preparing appropriate content, editing, proofreading, putting into template, distribution for the monthly GWS APAC Newsletter
  • Weekly Clippings relating to (collecting submissions, preparing appropriate content, editing, proofreading, putting into template, distribution)
  • Quarterly Media SOV Analytics
  • Update GWS APAC Intranet homepage with relevant content
  • Support development and delivery of internal events


  • Support the development and roll-out of engaging, integrated multi-channel campaigns in line with an annual occupier research program; maximizing opportunity to align and brand in line with the global GWS Institute program; cascading outputs regionally/divisionally to internal & external audiences
  • Be recognized as a specialist in delivery of communication solutions and an all-round project manager with excellent attention to detail
  • Support the application for industry awards
  • Support the development of external client events


  • Develop communications plan, covering media relations, client and internal communications for special projects and other business requirements
  • Plan and implement Marcomms processes and initiatives throughout Asia
  • Track Marcomms activities, demonstrating link between activities and results
  • Develop awards program and strategy and coordinate/write submissions
  • Assist with design and management of CRM activities, e.g., client events; corporate merchandise, etc.
  • Develop strategy/tactics to market CBRE and occupier offering to clients using existing vehicles, Campaign Logic, and new approaches
  • Develop and manage digital marketing strategy for GWS across Asia Pacific, including web, Twitter, Property Information Site, etc.
  • Ensure Global Head of Communications, Local Accounts is kept informed and involved (as necessary) with initiatives

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability in delivering results – requires skills of a hands-on communications specialist, with strategic insight
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad marketing role in advertising, property, financial or professional services
  • Fluent in all aspects of the marketing – brand, media buying, digital, print production, web, outdoor
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail, strong project management skills and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong writing and editing capabilities, specifically business writing, executive communications, creative writing
  • Client focused, demonstrating ability to provide quality service and advice within Marcomms arena
  • Sound decision-making capabilities, demonstrating an ability to create persuasive and compelling recommendations
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization with excellent presentation skills
  • Creative thinker with ability to implement regional process in varying Asia markets
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft packages –Word, Excel and Outlook.  InDesign an advantage.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 year-education in a relevant field i.e. marketing, communication, public relation, economics or commerce (experience in property industry an advantage) or Professional Marketing Accreditation e.g. CIM/CMMP
  • 5 years+ experience in marketing management in a service-related industry
  • Presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Writing skills and ability to edit existing writing
  • Strong knowledge of major Asia markets would be an advantage
