Job Purpose:
  • Responsible for managing a team of technicians and Approved Person engineers as part of the project integration team operating 24/7 in support of a clients major London refurbishment of their EMEA headquarters in Canary Wharf.
  • Provide technical assessment/support for all planned projects works in CGC2.
  • To influence project team to ensure that business risk and Health & Safety risk is always minimised.
  • To monitor, as necessary, project works within the critical engineering functions as managed by Project team in CGC2.
  • Support and provide holiday cover for the Project Integration Manager.
  • To influence works within the client facilities from design concept through to operational handover.
  • To assist in monitoring the system are fully operational including witnessing any re- commissioning, witnessing, snagging and handover of these systems back to the BAU team.
  • To manage the safe system of all electrical and mechanical isolations required to be carried out by CBRE Project Integration team as a key function provided to the client’s main contractor.
Responsibilities:
  • Performing HR duties such as recruiting, selecting, scheduling, counselling, and disciplining employees. Lead, motivate and support team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment. Including career development plants for all director reports and problem resolution.
  • To monitor and implement monitoring system with the team to ensure that project works are being completed in line with health and safety policy and standards.
  • To review RAMs for project activities with a view on business impact (risk) and engineering system resilience with multiple work front activities taking place simultaneously.
  • Raising project related changes on the client Change Management (Service Now) system and obtain client & operational stakeholder approvals.  Adherence to client Change Management and critical space security control policies.
  • To ensure alignment of works between Project and BAU activities.
  • To assist in planning, assessment, and monitoring of the removal of systems.
  • To monitor the installation and fit-out of facilities to ensure compliance with the agreed design, the client’s standards, and statutory requirements.
  • To ensure that the safe system of works is used for all project works completed.
  • To assist at all stages of commissioning, witnessing, snagging and handover of all new facilities, systems, and assets.
  • To assist in the preparation and execution of Shutdowns and IST planning and completion through change control.
  • To advise the client of any issues which may influence their decisions on the granting of practical completion.
  • To ensure that warranties are validated and transferred to the ownership of operational teams
  • To ensure that training in the operation of new facilities, systems and assets is made available by project teams for operational teams, prior to practical completion.
  • To ensure that all project documentation (O&M manuals etc.) Are reviewed and where necessary, that the project is advised of required corrections; and then to ensure that operational teams can review these documents prior to acceptance.
  • To assist with the population and updating of the Management Information systems with data covering building assets, systems, and system elements (REALM) (BIM).
  • To ensure that reports are produced as and when required.
  • To identify to the project integration manager, any issues that require attention.
  • Undertake Post Incident Reviews and Root Cause Analysis as may be required.
  • To proactively seek innovation in all areas of service provision, in pursuit of continuous improvements.

  • To ensure that the projects team following the agreed contract code of practice and site rules and escalate as required.

Person Specification:

Education
  •  A good general education is required
  • Recognised technical qualification
  • 18th Edition (desired)
  • HV qualification (desired)
  • Engineering HNC or equivalent combination of education and experience (desired)
Training
  • Manual Handling Training would be an advantage
  • Health and safety training
Experience
  • Experience of senior technical roles managing critical environments and core life safe infrastructure with multiple direct reports.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services, in particular – UPS’s, transfer switches, PLC systems, critical cooling systems, water treatment, refrigeration systems and HV/LV electrical infrastructure
  • Authorized person for LV systems. Authorized person for HV systems (desired)
  • Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance and project activities
  • Experience of large construction projects (desired)
