JOB SUMMARY

CBRE’S Global Learning & Development (L&D) team has been established to bring innovation, creativity and quality to CBRE’s learning programs and initiatives. This team plays an integral part in the design and development of CBRE University's (CBREU) curriculum and learning programs.

Responsible for elevating the quality of our learning such that we help our people improve their performance and strengthen their professional and leadership skills. The team members specialize in a learning methodology and work on program development projects from conception, to instructional design, to content curation through to delivery and deployment.

The CBREU Learning Technology & Tools Manager manages learning platforms for on-demand, e-learning, live virtual, live simulations and other digital tools meant to enhance the learner’s experience.

This role is focused on identifying and implementing innovative and leading-edge learning technologies at CBRE. In this role, you will work with various stakeholders and service providers to ensure that CBRE's L&D curriculum is delivered through tools that maximize the effectiveness of our learning events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the L&D team in matching effective and best-in-class learning tools in the marketplace with CBRE’s needs. Works closely with L&D leadership, cross-functional partners and business managers as a subject matter expert in learning platforms, technologies and tools.

Drives the digital methodology for high-impact learning at CBRE. Researches and establishes business cases for utilizing new mobile, social and virtual learning tools to enhance both formal and informal learning.

Leverages expertise in commonly used tools in the industry to create and/or format excellent learning products for programs as assigned.

Builds stakeholder relationships internally and externally to help CBRE elevate its learning solutions through collaboration and effective agreements. 

Advises on learning technology best practices and leads the acquisition and implementation of the selected tools in coordination with the Digital & Tech organization.

Researches and understands the lines of business of CBRE in order to align the learning tools we implement with the needs of each of the businesses.

Engages with stakeholders to understand and capture their business-driven initiatives to ensure the appropriate capabilities are available in the technology tools selected for use. Partners with L&D and business leaders to understand needs and prioritize deliverables. Listens carefully; ensures buy-in and sponsorship.

Collaborates with D&T and L&D Knowledge Management teams to establish a coordinated effort in synchronizing CBRE’s learning platform requirements with the infrastructure necessary to deliver them.

Ensures effective enterprise learning tools governance, balancing the need for functional team flexibility and system-wide stability.

Manages complex vendor relationships and oversees the selection process.

Hands-on in documenting processes and practices, while periodically reviewing for maximum relevance and quality.

Performs other duties as assigned.

                              

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project team. Leads project teams and/or plans and supervises assignments of lower level employees.  May have responsibility for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating a work unit and/or group.


 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a college or university in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Learning Technologies, Business or related field with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience required (equivalent work experience = 2 years’ experience for every year of higher-level education).

Minimum 4 years of experience in learning and development related responsibilities, such as; needs assessments, program design, and curriculum development, etc.

Project management experience preferred.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.  Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts and commissions.  Conducts advanced financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and become proficient in use of company's Learning Management System (LMS).

The ability to manage multiple projects, communicate effectively with L&D teams and produce improved learner experience and retention results are core elements of the role.

Serve as an individual contributor leading projects through matrix relationships and influence.

Effective critical thinking skills to evaluate viability of new technology in context of the CBRE ecosystem.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause mid-term impact to department.
