About the role

This role plays a pivotal service in leading, organizing and implementing high-quality specialist engineering and coordination support to a wide range of lab equipment including the supporting tasks in the lab space to drive quality and efficiency for the client’s scientific staff. The SEC role also provides Level 1 triage in the lab prior to corrective maintenance service calls to enable a faster diagnosis of faults.

Under direct supervision, conducts the review of certificates, tests reports related to the Good Practice (GxP) laboratory instrument certificates; examines and compares reports performed by third-party service providers against customer requirements for equipment supported by Full Spectrum across client site. Handles work orders, vendors and laboratory day to day operations.

What you’ll do

  • Performs secondary review of GxP laboratory instrument certificates; tests report(s) against customer's requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison with third-party service providers; ensures customer requirements are met based on review of GxP laboratory instruments or similar certificates/tests records provided by third-party service provider(s).
  • Archives GxP certificates/test reports in accordance with archive and retention procedures.
  • Serves as an intermediary between third-party providers and procurement; ensures valid purchase order (PO) numbers are in place.
  • Performs required activities to ensure invoices are processed for payment to third party for assets supported by the business.
  • Provides training support and backup to department personnel for the review of GxP laboratory assets certificates/test reports; processes invoices associated with laboratory service by third-party service provider(s).
  • Ensures procedures are followed to initiate changes that affect laboratory assets.
  • Assists in audit preparation; retrieves documentation for inspection purposes.
  • Uses computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to administer closure, storage of work orders and documentation in accordance with GxP and GDP practices
  • Works within an established CMMS system (ie. Maximo) for service coordination
  • Responds to customer inquires. 

What you’ll need

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required and a minimum of two years of related experience or equivalent work experience. Previous customer service or administration experience preferred.

Communication skills

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

Financial knowledge

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

Reasoning ability

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Experience with Desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite and Online Help.

Knowledge of GxP and understanding of a lab instrument services environment.

Experience working with databases and/or systems.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The range for this position is $70,000 to $82,000. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualification, and experience.
