JOB SUMMARY  

Manages the food service function. Responsible for enforcing safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Manages food inventories, vendor deliveries, food preparation, and menu planning while adhering to regulatory guidelines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Plans monthly Menu for all meals to be served.

Prepares lunch items and assists as needed to keep food service line running smoothly.

Serves as primary contact with vendors for supplies, equipment maintenance, and levels of service. Manages costs within budget parameters and escalates potential variances.

Manages and maintains all areas to ensure proper sanitary procedures are followed for handling and storing foods. Ensures compliance with all local regulations.

Coordinates and assists in kitchen clean up.

Performs other duties as required.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

May have formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE  

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a commercial Kitchen environment required.


CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES  

Maintain a Food Protection Certification per the local regulations.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS  

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, co-workers, and/or
supervisor. Ability to provide clear direction to staff and ensure open communication.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE  

Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.


REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY  

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and schedules. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
