We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager - Design to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural design, specifically within the fit-out sector, and a proven ability to manage and contribute to design projects from concept to completion. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Project Management:
  • Assist the Design Manager in overseeing and managing multiple fit-out projects concurrently, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively propose solutions.
  • Prepare and review design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and presentations.
• Design & Technical Expertise:
  • Contribute to the development of innovative and aesthetically pleasing design solutions for fit-out projects.
  • Prepare and review architectural drawings, 3D models, and other visual representations of design concepts.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Possess a strong understanding of materials, finishes, and construction techniques relevant to fit-out projects.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Provide guidance and support to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Participate in design reviews and critiques, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams, including sales, procurement, and construction, to ensure project alignment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external consultants and vendors.
• Communication & Client Management:
  • Effectively communicate design concepts and project updates to clients, presenting ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Manage client expectations and address any concerns or feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Other Responsibilities:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in design and construction.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of design standards and processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.

• Education: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 5-6 years of relevant experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on fit-out projects.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven experience in managing and contributing to fit-out projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Excellent design skills, including proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and/or other 3D modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
