At CBRE GWS we are looking for a Contract Legal Counsel in Spain who can support the business by advising, influencing, and educating key stakeholders on contractual and commercial best practice as well as taking lead on developing and implementing appropriate contractual and commercial processes and controls in order to contribute to the achievement of CBRE’s strategic goals.


Key Tasks are:

Providing Commercial solutions and legal advice to support the regional GWS business in Spain and Portugal to minimize risk exposure and maximize profits and revenue within corporate guardrails. 

Leading the negotiation and agreement of services and projects contracts at the terder stage. 
Adopting and agreeing the best negotiation strategy with internal stakeholders.
Taking the lead on issues which could lead to high risk or litigation/disputes
Providing commercial guidance and advising on contractual obligations through the contract life cycle.
Staying abreast of changes in law and commercial practice
Considering innovative solutions

Promoting commercial policy/procedure compliance

Providing and maintaining standard documentation
Educate and advise internal stakeholders on commercial best practice ensuring that CBRE meets all contractual obligations and strategic objectives 
Checking processes and monitoring contract and guardrails compliance.
Running commercial training courses.

Assist procurement team in the establishment of a commercially robust supply order placement
Transferring of risk by back to back obligations
Ensuring supplier selection is appropriate
 
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
Preferably law degree qualified or equivalent
Relevant experience in a similar role. Preferably in a commercial or legal in-house role in facility management, maintenance or construction industry in a regional or global organization.
Able to work independently, self-motivated individual experienced and comfortable with complex problem solving and providing solutions-based advice and guidance to multiple stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with fluency in English. Ability to draft and negotiate contracts in English and Spanish. Portuguese desirable.
Have experience with complex contract management including reporting, change control and KPI management.
Collaborative approach with ability to maximise short term requirements and output whilst building long-term productive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels. 
Thrive on fast-paced deadline driven team environment working in a regional and global business.
Flexible approach, diligent, discrete, compliant with company policies and responsive to key business objectives.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business impact and risk mitigation anticipating business needs in relation to contract terms and operations.
Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision making.
Good to advanced understanding of Microsoft Office suite.
