The Facilities Technician performs functions related to supporting the manufacture of drug products, such as setting-up, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and facilities.  

The position incumbent is expected to adhere to all cGMP compliance and regulatory mandates and quality requirements, and comply with all SOPs and client policies and procedures in the performance of job duties where applicable.  The Facilities Technician correctly follows SOPs to complete tasks and applies skills and knowledge to recognize issues that impact plant efficiency, throughput, quality, and/or the fulfillment of the assigned production targets. 

The role assists in troubleshooting equipment issues and observes established escalation paths to ensure issues are appropriately addressed and resolved so targets can be met.  The Facilities Technician is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of job duties in a team environment. This position reports to the Facilities Engineer.


Primary duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support and adhere to established maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain production and facility equipment in strict accordance with engineering/maintenance instructions, SOPs, and cGMP’s.
  • Complete all required data entries with detail and accuracy in real time.
  • Observe established escalation process for issues impacting established plant-related SLAs and/or fulfillment of plant goals.
  • Recognize and report to immediate supervisor any facility, utility, process or equipment anomalies and/or deviations from accepted standards.
  • Provide status updates on maintenance activities and operational challenges according to defined procedures.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly and observe all safety and compliance procedures.
  • Seek process innovation and continuous process improvement in overall plant areas.
  • Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and role-specific training. 
  • Carry out and assist in the ongoing training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate.
  • Observe all safety and compliance procedures and actively highlight any safety concerns to help drive the reduction of accidents or near misses.



Min secondary level education and certificate

Min craft/trade qualification (mechanical) or equivalent


Exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing or equivalent

Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills
