JOB SUMMARY  

Role Purpose

To deliver this vision, we are looking to hire technologists in leadership positions to establish a ‘connected architecture’ of systems and applications across lines of business and geographies, leading technology teams on innovation through exploration of new technologies with an emphasis on “speed to market” with quality delivery.

As a Director, Digital and Technology, the primary responsibility will be to lead the delivery of two or more agile teams. Be a hands-on technologist, lead the creation and maturity of COE and support the cloud transformation journey by creating new systems and applications delivered on the cloud natively and/or migrate existing systems to the cloud.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Manages, coaches, and trains a team of Digital & Technology staff and oversees multiple projects.

·      Documents procedures and standards. Identifies where procedures are not aligned with CBRE or audit standard controls.

·      Provides tiered digital & technology support for end users. Troubleshoots technical problems such as application performance issues or network connectivity problems. Gathers and reports on support metrics in order to identify trends that warrant attention.

·      Supports and maintains applications, networks, and devices. Works with vendors to deliver updates, resolve issues, and manage the product lifecycles.

·      Researches and designs application development, infrastructure, or service standards.

·      Serves as the digital & technology liaison for the area of responsibility, primarily for internal clients.

·      Responsible for developing and executing multiple, simultaneous project plans. The scope of projects are small to large.

·      Oversees digital & technology work orders and service contracts and ensures issues are resolved.

·      Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·      Expert in building enterprise applications with a history strong technical delivery

·      Strong experience in applications and business intelligence solutions with solid data engineering and analytical skills

·      Prior experience with Azure and AWS cloud technologies including architecting, deploying and managing globally available and balanced data and application services.

·      Strong experience managing development teams in agile application development environment.

·      Working knowledge of database management principles and various data architectures with experience in designing and maintaining critical database environments

·      Knowledge of data structures, transport protocols, data mapping technics with experience in capturing and publishing metadata for strong data governance

·      Current or prior hands-on experience in application design, development and support (8-10 years)

·      Experience with open source technologies and one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Python, GoLang, Scripting

·      Experience with administering back-end database technologies (one or more of the following: Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Postgres, Cassandra)

·      2+ Years of Experience with Microservices Architecture and Docker Containers

·      Experience with integration development using REST APIs and message queuing / integration platforms such as Apache Kafka

·      Experience with testing automation tools (unit, integration and acceptance tests), creating CICD pipelines and DevOps.


QUALIFICATIONS  

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of six to ten years of related experience and/or training, including 2-3 years of management level experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE  

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements budgetary policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget.


REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
