An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join our UK Real Assets Research Team. This team plays a key role in formulating CBRE Global Investor’s investment strategy and steering decision making for portfolio construction. The successful candidate will principally be involved in the analysis of the UK economy and its property market in support of the firm’s substantial funds and separate accounts presence in the market. The candidate will also collaborate with the wider Global Real Assets Research team on ad hoc projects at both a European and Global level. The post is intended to be full time and permanent and will be based in the company’s London office. Some travel within the UK and to the company’s other European offices may be required in due course.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse the impact of macroeconomic drivers and capital market trends on UK real assets
  • Consider the investment characteristics and performance of real assets within the wider context of other asset classes
  • Coherently communicate key messages to fund managers and investors – via both presentations and written outputs
  • Participate in the forecasting process and contribute to the formulation of UK house views and preferred strategies
  • Contribute to the direction and content of research white papers
  • Write and edit research sections for fund reports and external publications
  • Service ad hoc requests

Person Specification

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and able to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks, ensuring multiple/competing deadlines are met
  • Comfortable engaging with senior business leaders
  • Ability to think both at a strategic level and offer insights at asset level

Skills Required

  • Education to degree level in economics, finance, statistics, real estate, or related subjects
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an analyst of capital/investment markets, real estate or other asset classes
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable dealing with large/complex datasets
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and data analysis packages
