CBRE Integrated Laboratory Solutions, part of Global Workplace Solutions, is a leading global provider of Scientific Support Services. We are recruiting an Operations Lead for our Laboratory workspace to join the team located at one of our client sites.

The role will be responsible for the development of people, processes and solutions delivered to a Life Sciences customer’s laboratory operations.  These solutions will represent Intergrated Laboratory Solutions at an account level, managing KPI’s, vendor relationships and compliance requirements.  Responsible for managing the day to day Intergrated Laboratory Solutions operations of various assigned Laboratories to ensure the delivery of services and vendor management standards of the contract are met in a safe, compliant and timely manner against an agreed budget.  Works in cooperation with the client’s management, end users and vendors / sub-contractors.  Responsible for account based issues to include management strategy, client relations, team building and other key contractual strategies

Key Duties:
  • Ensures that all Intergrated Laboratory Solutions are provided in a cost-effective, safe and compliant manner in accordance with the approved budget and the customer’s requirements to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Supports the development and administration of the Intergrated Laboratory Solutions budget.
  • Manages, directs and schedules day-to-day and long-range activities for defined Intergrated Laboratory Solutions scope and ensure that all programs and procedures of the Intergrated Laboratory Solutions staff are being properly implemented.
  • Responsible for proper planning and scheduling for Laboratory Instrument Services including maintenance, repair, commissioning, validation and disposition per contract scope.  
  • Responsible for proper planning and scheduling for Laboratory Technical Services including media preparation, instrument set up, glassware and consumable deliveries and waste collection per contract scope.
  • Ensures statutory and regulatory compliance of all work.  Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards.
  • Responsible for process performance metrics; tracking, analyzing and reporting performance in terms of quality, safety, cost, and customer satisfaction. Takes corrective action to bring about required change and ensure contract requirements have been executed at a level above the specified standards.
  • Responsible for the development of direct reports including hiring, promotions, recognition, discipline, and performance management.  
  • Establishes and coordinates goal setting, performance reviews and incentive/salary administrative processes for direct reports and possibly those reporting to direct reports, utilizing GPAS, GPSS, Pure Safety, CHESS etc.  Ensures training records are maintained and up to date.
  • Communicates operating philosophy, objectives and expectations to Intergrated Laboratory Solutions personnel in a continuing effort to build the site team.
  • Optimize the use of Technology Infrastructure, such as CMMS, to support Intergrated Laboratory Solutions service delivery, and strategy. 
  • Participate in the creation and management of the Intergrated Laboratory Solutions work stream ‘Transformation Roadmap’.
  • Identifies, tests, and implements ‘leading edge’ technology in support of Intergrated Laboratory Solutions delivery.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with customer representatives, alliance partners, and operations managers.
  • Resolves problems and/or conflicts and maintains open communication with the client including providing regular written reports and presentations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manages contractor specifications, problems/issues, performance and administration.
  • Recommends solutions and implements appropriate corrective action for Intergrated Laboratory Solutions delivery issues.  
  • Reviews and approves all expenditures for tools, equipment, supplies, materials and additional contract requirements.

Skill, Knowlegde and Experience required:
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering or Chemistry, 
  • Experience in a related field of study and experience managing in Laboratory and / or manufacturing pharmaceutical environments.  
  • Experience and accomplishment while operating in regulated environments. Applicant must have demonstrable knowledge of FDA guideline interpretations, GMP, GLP and audit experience.  
  • Provide demonstrated knowledge of Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Medical Device industry products and services. 
  • A proven knowledge of, and experience of working with, the Life Science industry supplier base including analytical instrument OEM’s, service providers and consumables vendors.  
  • Applicant must have demonstrable skills in analytical instrument maintenance and / or laboratory technical services.  
  • Provide demonstrated strong organizational skills, project planning and management with leadership and team building ability committed to work in a quality environment. 
  •  Excellent presentation and communication skills and MS Office literacy required.  
  • May require the ability to travel
