We are looking for a Director to join our growing team of investment professionals in the London office. The successful individual will focus on sourcing, executing and asset managing investments for the private infrastructure programme. Your principal responsibilities will be with regard to non-control investments (minority investments, co-investments and fund investments on a primary and secondary basis). You may also be required on a case by case basis to execute direct investments. You will report to the Head of Infrastructure Europe.

You will play an important role and take on leadership responsibilities as part of a versatile team in making global investments with responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Run transaction execution for infrastructure funds and co-investments, including quantitative and qualitative due diligence as well as legal negotiations, documentation and deal closing procedures
  • Review due diligence materials, including valuation models, and assure quality control at all stages of the due diligence process
  • Coordinate and take a leading role in negotiating transaction documents such as Limited Partner Agreements and Side Letters
  • Review and appraise the due diligence of co-investment materials prepared by lead investment partners, assessing the depth and quality of analysis provided, and making recommendations on the suitability of specific investment opportunities for the firm’s clients
  • Prepare detailed investment recommendations outlining key elements of the investment thesis, including an assessment of the relevant merits and risks of each investment, supported by in-depth research and analysis of market and industry trends, track record evaluation, competitor analysis
  • and other factors
  • Meet with and assess infrastructure fund managers
  • Take a lead role in monitoring infrastructure investments and managing relationships with infrastructure managers in Europe
  • Contribute actively to the analytical work of developing and prioritising deal pipelines and create reports to guide discussions at weekly team meetings on specific opportunities
  • Conduct market and industry research, perform valuation and track record analysis
  • Participate in various facets of portfolio management including portfolio construction, investment pacing, allocation analysis, performance analytics, investment monitoring and client service 
  • Assist in the development of private markets investment strategies, including preparing educational materials for senior management and investment committees, and as required, playing a supporting role in various business development initiatives for the firm
  • Conduct research for ad hoc projects, including changes in industry trends and competitor analyses
Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will meet most of the following requirements:
  • Eight years or more of relevant front office investment experience in private markets, infrastructure investing or investment banking
  • Completion of a university degree and having a strong academic record
  • Established track record in infrastructure investing, including having led a number of fund, coinvestment and/or direct investment transactions from beginning to end
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, intellectual agility, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Well-developed qualitative and quantitative analytical skills; demonstrated strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence capabilitie
  • Highly proficient in Excel with advanced abilities in Word and PowerPoint applications
  • Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and projects concurrently
  • Ability to identify, measure and manage risks and cope with incomplete information
  • Experience managing due diligence teams
  • Willingness to travel and work under tight timelines
  • Completion of, or enrolment in, a professional designation (e.g. CFA, CAIA) and/or fluency in multiple languages are each considered an asset.
