Role Purpose

The role will sit within the lending team of Investment Advisory (“DIA”) service line. Investment Advisory is a key service line of CBRE Capital Advisors. The Investment Advisory team works with institutional, financial and property company clients to develop tailored real asset investment solutions designed to meet their specific business and investment objectives. 

The Lending team has various debt mandates, enabling it to make loans across multiple lending strategies.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual seeking to make a significant impact within a large financial services advisory group. 
You will be a key team member, sourcing new loan transactions on behalf of the lending team’s retained clients.

Key Responsibilities

Key focus on originating / sourcing new lending opportunities for a broad range of lending mandates.
Maintaining network of contacts to source opportunities.
Engaging with CBRE’s network of clients and contacts to source appropriate lending opportunities.
Working across CBRE’s European network to source an execute loans.
Negotiating and structuring loans you have originated with borrowers.
Discussing and screening origination lending opportunities with credit committees and investors. Work with the loan execution team to ensure opportunities you have originated and taken through to agreed terms are then executed and taken through credit committee.

Person Specification/Requirements

Primary requirements:
Experience of originating and sourcing real estate debt transactions within the UK/EMEA for a broad range of transactions (across various asset classes as well as investment and development loans). 
Origination across investment and development lending and across all key asset classes (Commercial and residential).
Solid experience in the European and UK real estate finance sector. 
Experience in Europe will be of particular interest.
Strong business development and networking skills.
Strong contact base of borrowers. 
Ability to convert early lending opportunities into agreed heads of terms.
Experience of structuring and negotiation of transaction terms. 
Relationship management with borrowers.

Other aspects:
Additional experience in the loan lifecycle after origination will be of interest as well: including due diligence, transaction management and loan documentation expertise. 
Strong credit analysis skills and ability to present transactions to credit committees.
The ability to prepare and present financing proposals with the skill and experience to influence and overcome objections. 
Able to lead the legal completion of any financing. 
Ability to focus on deal completion.

Desired background and qualifications:
Prior experience ideally working in real estate banking, debt funds preferred.
Experience as a real estate debt broker or advisor is of interest also.
Appropriate finance and/or banking qualifications of interest.
