Position Summary:

Act as a key advisor and subject matter expert for Health, Safety and Environmental matters across the APAC Region.


• Be the trusted advisor to the client and CBRE team, to ensure compliance with the highest standards of health, safety and security

• To lead CBRE’s Health, Safety, and Environment issues relating to management of the client’s property portfolio. To ensure HSE issues are addressed efficiently and appropriately. A key deliverable will be to oversee statutory compliance across the client’s portfolio

• To manage other HSE experts within the APAC HSE team.

• Co-operate with EMEA counterpart to achieve full compliance related to KPI activities and ensure consistency of delivery for client

• To actively participate in and work across CBRE’s HSE functional network to develop the knowledge network across the account

• Provide primary interface and single point of contact for client’s key Health, Safety and Environment representatives

• Work closely with the client’s Life Safety team – to ensure that both CBRE and the client deliver on their respective agreed HSE responsibilities, seamlessly managing the portfolio HSE risks.

• Provide advice to the Project Management team, to ensure each capital project has sufficient budget and resource to manage foreseeable HSE risks

• Ensure that CBRE delivers and reports against the contractual HSE obligations, including

o Ensuring all CBRE Responsibilities and Accountabilities are fulfilled in-line with the account RACI Chart and MSA

o Maintaining compliance with country-specific environmental regulations

o Managing any agreed critical issues such as environmental regulatory compliance, environmental incidents and environmental regulatory inspections

o Reporting incidents and inspections along with any associated fines (spills/releases, regulatory inspections, notices of violation/fines, exceeding regulatory thresholds) to the client

o Assist the client in tracking the performance of environmental suppliers and vendors

o Provide data and reports to the client on a quarterly basis

o Minimize environmental health and safety notices, violations and fines, and ensure the tracking and reporting of such occurrences

• Implement a HSE auditing programme, against requirements for statutory compliance and compliance to CBRE HSE management systems and processes

• Support the Sourcing team to manage HSE risks and issues in the supply chain

• Monitor CBRE contractor HSE performance via routine/ad hoc audit

• Provide advice to the IFM team, to ensure compliance with the client’s high standards of health, safety and environment

• Provide HSE news and compliance updates to the CBRE team within the account

• Support the client’s Life Safety team in the development and implementation of HSE initiatives

• Report, record and investigate (where necessary) all IFM related accidents and incidents and provide support for accident investigations, including root cause analysis

• Act as the CBRE representative to deal with the statutory authorities as appropriate

• Training and delivery of health and safety policies and the Account Playbook across the account team

• Contribute to the development of CBRE’s APAC HSE management systems

• Ensure that the CBRE account team identify and establish plans to manage the HSE operational issues on the new account

• Vendor manager for key HSE account vendors


• Recognised national professional qualification in health & safety management

• Educated to degree level

The following qualifications or equivalent would be an advantage

• Auditing qualification

• Relevant professional qualification in environmental management

• Significant experience of working in a health & safety role in a client facing environment – preferably in the finance industry

• Experience of working within the real estate business is a distinct advantage

• Knowledge of current business continuity practice is a distinct advantage

• Knowledge of current engineering health & safety best practice is a distinct advantage

• Knowledge of health & safety requirements across main Asia Pacific countries

• Excellent communicator (written and verbal)

• Fluent in English

• Be able to impact and influence all levels of colleagues and client

• Ability to influence a global client
